COVID-19 Update – Appointments Available

The Barnabas Center for Counseling has served Savannah and the Coastal Empire for almost 25 years. There is a great need for families to get help to deal with depression, anxiety, and stress as we all cope with the effects of the Corona Virus (COVID-19). We offer individual, marriage, and family therapy for all ages, all of our therapist are state-licensed. Due to the mandated closure, we have been offering our services through video or phone counseling sessions. We will continue to offer telemental health services until the mandated closures are lifted. A lesson about love…by Irene Renteria

The central theme of the Bible is Love. The Bible is both a love letter and a love story. It is about a holy creator who loved his creation so much, that he did not want to be separated from them, so he made a way to be reunited with them when there seemed to be no way. God sent Jesus, his only son to die on the cross for our sins.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).  Because of God’s unfailing love, Jesus became sin for us, so that through faith in him we can receive the free gift of salvation.

Listening without fixing-Helping Those who Are Hurting by Irene Renteria

“I love the Lord because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.  Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live” (Psalm 116:1-2).

Are you a fixer?  When a loved one comes to you for emotional support, do you try and share what you think would be a good solution to their problem?  It is normal to feel uneasy when someone we love is in pain. A typical response would be to try and find a way to make them feel better.  Thus the race to find a way to fix it begins.
